The effects of even a few experiences with LSD, or
other
powerful synthetics, can impair an individual's ability to be supremely
productive
as an activist within society on any consistent, positive basis.
I would hypothesize that
if
marijuana had been the most powerful drug accessible by the hippie
class of persons, the 'Summer of Love' time period, during 1967 through
1970 and the entire progressive
movement of the mid-sixties would have been infinitely more
successful. They perhaps would have been in a position to really
threaten the lies of the military-industrial complex that evolved after
the assassination of President Kennedy.
Yet we shall never have
an
opportunity to really know how life would have turned out if the
hippies had not 'tuned out', and, in my opinion, that is a drastic loss
for modern American society.
